some thoughts and reflection

the passing away of a friend kind of made me realised some things. One day you might be the wealthiest person in the world but the next day everything is still gonna turn into dust. when I say wealth, I don just mean money or fame but everything that is possible such as love, family, health and friendship.

we have been constantly reminded that we must live our lives to the fullest and not live in regret. to cherish your friends, family, love and even yourself and not take them for granted. So much has been told but how many off us can really practise what we preached. most of time people tend to pass it off that we'll find time later, but apparent, later will never come. Procrastination.

David has taught me 3 things about life.
We need to take care of ourselves and to look after our own health. The health of our family and friends and loved ones is paramount too. One has to take good care of your body in order to stay healthy so as not to make ur loved ones worried about you. To also be healthy so that you would have the strength to look after the people around you. to be healthy so as to be able to complete whatever dreams that you have. To be healthy to simply enjoy life.

My dear once mentioned to me that Life is like a journey on a train. the pasengers on board are akin to the friends who will be with you on board this train. At this moment, they may be with you onboard, but you never know when their journey with you will stop. sometimes their journey will terminate while you are still continuing your own journey, sometimes they will alight to board another train and embark on their own journey. How apt. However, there are times that we can choose to alight our own journey and choose to board on another train just to catch up with the passengers your once travelled with. Although this might deviate you from your original route to your destination, perhaps we shouldn't even be so obsessed with getting to our destination so eagerly in the first place. So what exactly have I learn from this friend of mine? The ans is simple, that is to cherish the passengers who once travelled with you. Give them a short visit if they have already board on another train. Perhaps you could say you are the captain of your own train and u could jolly well decide the route for yourself. travel with them once more even if it's just a short journey, reminisce on the journey we once had together. Be it a good or a bad experience, catch up on one another before our journey suddenly terminate. Reminisce the days we once had.

sometimes, the initial journey might not be a good experience, catching up with them later might proved to be a whole new experience and might shed new light to how we once judge them. maybe it has taught me to be more forgiving to some extent? to not be so myopic in some ways and to give others a chance to prove us wrong.

Lastly, your family is always there to give you relentless support no matter what you are going through. Their love for us is so fundamental and instinctive that there's no reason why. Yet we can be so introvert with our feelings for them that it might seem that we took them for granted. Though we all noe that we shouldn't take them for granted and we should love them like they always shower us with love and care, again we don explicitly tell them that we do. Lesson from tuesday with morrie: love each other or perish.

I think aurora are truly fascinating and amazing.... anyone noe the mechanism behind it? haha.. it's actually quatum physics. charge particles from the sun arriving at the earth's atmosphere. after getting excited, light energy is given off. check it out from wiki.

Hwa Chong MAF

Attended Hwa Chong's annual MAF celebration!!!

it's so nostalgic to go back for MAF. Where all the seniors, old boys and girls and teachers and staff gather at the Central Plaza. There were performances but the highlight of Hwa Chong's MAF will always be the GRAND LIGHT UP!!!!

Particular meaningful for the ex-councillors of Hwa Chong, it's always an event that cannot be missed.... well the hardwork in putting the lantern web, the centre piece, the fountain, the city gates!! All this are a indispensable part of MAF.

Not to forget Coucillors leading the Hwa Chong college songs, melodies that are so easy to sing to and the lyrics to meaningful and apt. The MAF celebration will never be complete without the mass dance session where all the old boys and girls all figuring very hard to recap the dance steps while the ex-councillors so easily pick up the steps again. together with the chanting of the dance commands and cheering in between, everyone all seem to be like schooling young adults once again!!! tt's the pride of being a hwa chong councillor bah.... hahaha.... but I'm sure the current and old students had great fun too!!! MAF's a good time for classes to have reunion or something rite.

had so much thoughts when I wanted to write about this entry especially when I was on the bus, there was so much I wanted to say. but as here I am, settled down at home, I simply don't know how to begin this story. I'm feeling so lost now...

last year december, contacted an old fren of mine regarding this attendance to a long awaited gathering. however, he kindly down our offer as he was on medication and he just had an operation. Not willing to let me noe wat his illness was, I was also afraid to probe further. All I did was to hope he would recover soon and then we would meet again though I had already suspected something serious might had cropped up but I had no moral courage to find out more or maybe because I simple couldnt be bothered? I donoe.....

Then during this vacation, had met up with a few frens of mine from sch days As we were talking about the good old times, we realised this fren of mine have been missing in action. Naturally, we were curious and we were concern. Only till today that I found out from another fren that he happened to be quite seriously ill. Earlier in december he had an operation on his colon to remove the cancer. and now, he had been hospitalised because the cancer cell has spread and he had to have another operation.

All this while he had been so critically ill and he did not even want to trouble us by letting us noe of his condition. that is just so much like his character. strong and considerate.... not wanting to trouble others and to suffer all this on his own. Now, I don even noe if he would want us to know of his condition because the fact that he had hid all this from us, he must have felt that he shouldnt let us know. How is it possible for someone to know of this and act indifferent? yet, we have to respect his decision.

When I know of this, I was totally shocked. I totally donoe how to react.... but now when I'm typing.... tears just start to flow down uncontrollably... Recently I had fallen sick as well. being down with flu, we lament the way we cant find the energy to do anything. Even such a small flu can seem so unbearable to me. What about wat my fren is going thru rite now? I cannot imagine.

But now, even when I noe of this, there's nothing I can do! I felt so hopeless to do anything for this ex team mate of mine. I hate myself for being so useless, even for feeling so hopeless too. Right! there is still hope. Whatever it is, please give him the strength to undergo his treatment, and to be the same old healthy person he should be. bless him.

I hate the way I simply don cherish the things and people ard me. that I had taken them for granted, expecting that they will always be there. That is simply so UNTRUE! When we are so caught up with our own individual lives, we have failed to stopped and catch up with other people around us. that includes our parents, our families, our friends and even ourselves. As we are busy mugging, chasing skirts, and when we are having the greatest time of our lives, don forget about those who are deprived of such chance. The reason why you are having such great time is because of the people around you. then why cant we be there when a fren needs a spiritual support?

It saddens me to know that life can be so vulnerable, There so little we can do.... yet there's also so much for us to do if we want to. So little that I can offered to help, to ease the pain for him, to make him recover. Yet if we want to, we can start from now, to treat everyone the best that they shd deserve, to not take them for granted, and to make them loved. Especially loved by you. I'm bad at expressing my emotions, but I must say I love my family, all my frens and you my dearest fren.... these may sound hypocritically but at this point of time, this is really how I feel.

The 7th month Fan Jian Ritual...

it's the least I would expect to complete my 7th month fan jian ritual with my parents!!! supposedly wanted to jio any fan jian ppl to watch kor dai and then followed by the movie 881, in the end, yesterday my mum jioed me to watched kor dai at AMK. So I suggested to watched the movie 881 after tt. hahaha... never did I expect an instant agreement from her.

so is was wat happened... we waited for papa to come home, had our dinner and set off to AMK to watch kor dai (ge tai) hosted by liu ling ling (aka 600). For ur information, liu ling ling's the fat auntie ling and the kor dai xian gu from 881. AMK was swarming with ppl and we could hardly get to watch the ge tai performance.....

anyway tt's liu ling ling on the left and a msian singer on the rite..... hot de loh... hahahaa no wonder so many uncle (excluding myself) like to watch kor dai... anyway the pic looks really small.

so let's talk abt 881 the movie. On the whole I really think it's quite good movie, considering tt it's a local production. it's quite close to our hearts. inspired by the ge tai spirit of late mr chen jin lang... a veteran ge tai singer.... the movie talks abt how the papaya sisters strive to carve a niche in the ge tai industry and how little papaya aka xiao mu gua chose to spend every bit of her energy on stage, performing for the ppl and the good brothers. the story is quite predictable but the filming style is rather unique. a good mixture of tragedy and comedy too. I really would recommend ppl to watch this local hokkien musical cos the music is really quite nice!

Btw my parents quite enjoyed the movie becos of the songs. liu ling ling's singing also quite power....

on a side note I think liu ling ling and mindee's (xiao mu gua) acting skills are quite impressive. certain parts of the movie are actually quite touching. you have to see it yourself to noe wat i'm talking abt.

I've always been called a xiao di.... and living my 20 plus years like a little boy.... but tt doesnt change the fact that age has indeed caught up with me.... now tt i'm already 22, I wonder how different am i as I was in secondary sch.

it's been a year since we last met up to celebrate mrs teng's bdae and it's good to see almost everyone again at guofeng's house. it as nice and cosy kinda feeling where everyone gathered ard the bbq pit to do some good time catching up. updating one another of their love lives, sch lives and their experience when they are overseas. you noe you just feel at ease and comfortable when I tok to them. and that these are the people whom you can really open up to and they will always listen to you. I never tot that I would miss each and everyone of them so much.... tt's abit gay to say tt but.... I really do.... memories of the secondary sch days kept flooding my mind.

it's great to hear from these brothers of mine again. everyone looks very much the same as before and i'm glad to see that all of them are doin well both academically and in relationships. I must say I feel so happy for them!!!

must really thank guofeng and his family for generously preparing the bbq food and letting us visit his house. the food taste great but our bbq skills suck.

lastly, I wish the brothers all the best and hope they stay safe and healthy for our next gathering.... i'll be expecting a full attendance.....

and so the motto for our class goes: "Always strike 4D!" hahhahaa.... till we meet again!!!

gosh... bought durian from jurong west today.... the durian is simply BEST!!!! 猫山王榴莲 1kg 10dollars.... wah.... 2 durian 30 dollar.... but it's damn nice!!!! bittersweet..... and fleshy.... hahaa

shit... now my throat abit sore liao... pu zhua...... hahahhaa.. heaty loh.....

in view of the today's GST hike, notice that there are many hawkers and shop manipulating this GST hike to their advantage..... taking this opportunity to increase their price. disgusting merchants.... last time, one popiah cost 1 dollar... and now..... it cost 1.20.... i'm sure the 20 cents made up the 2% increase in GST loh....

lastly, celebrated kenny's birthday at downtown east..... it most be at downtown east again.... so the alpha detachment reunite!!! it's been so long since we met up.

wahaha..... sunday went to ikea with mum, my sis and her baby daughter to shop for a lazy chair to put in my bedroom.... so this is wat i'm contemplating to purchase.... cool man.... and it can recline backward.... costing at 165 buck... I think it's quite a good deal if u are thinking of getting a recliner chair... it's not exactly a recliner but.... it serves like one.... wat to do... a real leather recliner chair is easily 700+ dollars... at least this one is leather too...... must get it before the GST rise.... hahaha.... cheapo hor.... tt means by saturday loh....

cool ah... can spend a lazy sunday afternoon... kio kar... read a book... and the fall asleep and basking in the warmth of the afternoon sun....

a busy week

It was a busy and hectic week.... nonetheless, it was still a fulfilling one.. Met up with the fellow SISPEC warriors for dinner at newton hawker. though the turn up was quite pathetic, we did have an enjoyable meal.

worked for garskin this week too... hahahaha and as usual the colleagues are so fun to worked with. there's also a couple of new faces.... I just hope that there's chance for us to meet up some day again.... hahaha.... supper anyone?

in the end cos jimmy had a nose operation so shiping had to stand in as our "boss"... haha

of course and there's my colleague at maleluca!!! kashmini and stella..... hahaha... the funny "gal frens" bimbo.....

Thursday nite went to support miss tan siqian at butter factory organised by her hall. it was a total flop man... we could easily be the onli non eusoffians ard.... hahahhaa.... not to mention that the number of eusoff hall ppl amount to less than 25? haahaaa... crap.....

I cant help but think abt what wat working life for me will be like?

lastly, today met up with the terra og ppl.... hahahaha.. had quite a good time at kbox.... though abit expensive ah..... and the ppl who turn up for kbox were......
